Meaning of the baby name GENTIUS.
form of Portuguese Gentio,
signifying "a gentile" or "a pagan, a heathen."
This was no doubt the original meaning of Gentius. But
despite the many authors who tell us that Gentius, king of Illyria,
gave name to the gentian plant, we seem to have even more telling
us that Gentius means "gentian," as if the name was derived from
