ZEITUN (زيتون). Arabic
name, derived from the vocabulary word zeitun, meaning
"olive tree." It is also the name of several places (see
below). In Hebrew it is written זיתון.
ZEITUN (= "olive), the
name of several places in Turkey and Egypt, but principally an Armenian
